Our Family

Michael Gleaton grew up in North, SC and received his Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2009 from the University of South Carolina. He’s practiced in an independent retail setting for over 7 years. He’s an active member the South Carolina Pharmacy Association and served on it’s Board of Directors. He’s lived in Lexington for 4 years and started at the Medicine Mart of Lexington in October of 2015. Michael is married to Megan Gleaton and has a son named Lucas.

Carrie Smoak attended The University of South Carolina where she received her Doctorate in Pharmacy in 2004. She has practiced in the retail setting for over l0 years in Lexington, and focused her efforts on compounding, administering vaccines, and delivering Medication Therapy Management to her patients. Carrie is a preceptor for pharmacy students throughout the state, and serves on the Experiential Committees for both the South Carolina College of Pharmacy and South University. Carrie is an active member of the South Carolina Pharmacy Association. Carrie is married to Michael Smoak and they have 2 daughters, Taryn and Kendall.

Larry Powers born and raised in Heath Springs, South Carolina made his way farther south to attend The University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy and was a part of the 1989 graduating. He has practiced in the community setting for his entire lifetime. Larry is a preceptor for pharmacy students throughout the state, and serves as a 10 year member of the Samoa Medical Mission team. Larry has been an active member of the Lexington community since 1990. Larry is married to Lynda Powers who is also a pharmacist and they have 2 daughters, Caroline and Emily.

Heather Chittam grew up in Lexington, SC and received her Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2009 from the University of South Carolina. Since graduating, she has practiced in the retail setting in the Midlands area with a focus on vaccine administration, compounding, and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Heather is married to Adam Chittam, who is also a pharmacist, and they have 3 children, Gardner, Reese, and Hollis.
